The first episode is like the first book with a few changes? Jenny is supposed to be a cute little brunette with huge boobs and Dan is supposed to be a broody hipster not Seth Cohen 2.0. Chuck is barely in the books, he’s just kind of the butt of a lot of their jokes and later on they all suspect he’s gay. Serena is accurate and so is Blair but Serena is a shittier person in the books but she’s flaky and laid back so no one calls her out on it whereas Blair is….Blair.

Nate was the best casting looks wise but they didn’t do enough with the character. He’s basically a typical hot teenage boy who smokes weed and does shitty things like cheat on Blair. The books are all about the Blair/Nate/Serena triangle but I loved it cause Nate would always fuck things up with Blair then sit around and then miss her like a typical guy. Vanessa was white andounk/hipster and had a shaved head and always wore black lol. Blairs step brother was like this really cool white rasta guy. Oh and Rufus is supposed to be an embarrassing scruffy Frank Gallagher type dad minus being a shitty person. The books aren’t that good they’re just fun reads and the whole Gossip Girl thing is much cooler cause you always think its a different character.
